Seasons changing in the American Basin
Lingering snow blankets the upper reaches of American Basin below Handies Peak. The basin’s dramatic mountain scenery, alpine meadows and surrounding San Juan peaks make it one of the most beautiful approaches to any Colorado 14er, especially during early season conditions.
