KUHL Suppressor Short Review
The KUHL Suppressor short is one of many outdoor and lifestyle shorts offered by the Utah based apparel company. The KUHL suppressor short comes in 6 different colors and 3 different inseam lengths. Sizes range from S-XXL. I tested a L version in Pirate Blue.

Background
KUHL sent me these shorts to test out and I used them for several months in a variety of different conditions. I have taken these on casual hikes, trail runs and day long treks ranging from hot to cooler mountainous environments.

Pros
- The shorts are extremely versatile, making a transition from a hike to a brewery to grab a beer after, seamless.
- The number of pockets is excellent – you won’t run out of storage.
- UPF and water resistant fabric allows these shorts to thrive in a variety of mountainous days.
- Waistband drawcord is great
- Material feels tough and hard to rip – I will be surprised if these do not hold up for a long time.
Cons
- The shorts feel a bit heavy on the body. I am not sure if it was a me problem, but found them slipping down on hikes and getting caught in my backpack waiststrap.
- At $89, they are an expensive short
- The KUHL Suppressor short does not have a liner in them, for me, this is actually a positive but for others this could be an issue.

KUHL Suppressor Short Summary
Living in Colorado, there are MANY months of the year where I tend to hike and run in shorts. Having a short that can handle the elements, be versatile and hold up in rugged environments is key. I have worn the KUHL Suppressor shorts up 14ers, on trail runs and to the gym. They are extremely versatile and don’t scream “I just worked out!” if you are wearing them in public.
However, after months of wearing these shorts, I don’t find myself looking for them in my dresser when I am gearing up for a mountain adventure. I am not sure if its the weight or the way they fit on me personally but I find them to snag on my backpack waist belt a lot which causes them to sag. I am not typically the “pull my pants up” kind of guy, but when I wear these, I find it happening often.
Overall, I don’t hate these shorts but with so many others on the market, I wouldn’t be purchasing a pair of these at this price point. Try a a pair for yourself here!
Overall KUHL Suppressor Short Rating: 3.5/5 Stars
*KUHL did provide me with these shorts to test out but all thoughts are my own and I was not compensated for this review.
